Bollywood Dance Night Fundraiser – July 2014

After raising money and awareness through selling Kamla Foundation t-shirts to local Yoga classes, Kim Skinner the Yoga teacher and Dizy Martin, Trustee of Kamla Foundation hit upon the idea of a Bollywood dance evening, to raise funds for the Foundation.

The stage was set for the 4th July 2014 at a local venue in South Manchester. The evening was packed with eager people wanting to learn to dance the ‘Bollywood way’. Dance teacher Monica Ballini explained the meaning of the Hindi songs and demonstrated the moves that accompanied them. Crowds of keen novices then took it in turns to strut their stuff, with much giggling and improvisation! After the dancing, we all ate a delicious vegetarian curry supper, washed down by drinks from the bar.

The whole evening had a great atmosphere of fun and celebration as well as the serious business of raising over a £1000 for the Foundation.
