Brighton Half Marathon – Feb 2012

Amy Urpi and her father John, ran the Brighton Half Marathon in aid of the Foundation. Amy was running her first ever half marathon. After a good start, Amy’s training hadn’t gone particularly smoothly (nursing a niggling injury!) but with her Dad’s long distance support  (from afar, up in Manchester) John had been training with her, providing some much needed moral support.

Amy worked for a while in India for the Foundation before starting life at Google and saw at first hand the difference we are making to the lives of the most vulnerable.

The Foundation would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both Amy and John for their sterling efforts and indeed for the tremendous amount they raised for us. Furthermore Google, (Amy’s employer) matched the total sum raised, so the Foundation received the fantastic sum of £3,000.
